GRIDINSOFT HELP CENTER

The app uses too much battery or storage — how can I optimize it?

A running scan can temporarily increase CPU, disk, power, and storage use. Sustained activity when no scan or update is running needs investigation rather than broad exclusions or permanent protection shutdown.

Reduce temporary load

  • Use a routine or Quick scan for regular checks and reserve Full scans for suspected infection or periodic deep review.
  • Schedule intensive scans when the PC is connected to power and not needed for demanding work.
  • Avoid running another antivirus scan, backup, large update, or disk-heavy task at the same time.
  • Keep enough free space on the Windows drive for updates, reports, and quarantine.

Review storage use safely

Check Tools for old scan and application logs and review Quarantine. Delete only records you no longer need for restoration, a false-positive report, or troubleshooting. Do not remove files directly from the app installation or data folders.

If high usage continues

Restart Windows, update the app, and note which process is active, when the load begins, and whether a scan or update is shown. Send Support the relevant application log and a Task Manager screenshot. Turn off a protection module only for a brief controlled comparison, then restore it.
