Scanning apps and archives takes more work than leaving the scanner idle. If you notice battery, network or storage use, first check whether a scan, database download or scheduled task is active.
Identify the current work
- Return to the scanner and look for an active scan or database download.
- Review Protection history to see saved manual, automatic and scheduled activity.
- If Pro is active, review the selected scan schedule, checks after database updates and automatic database download network.
Free automatic checks focus on new or updated apps. A Pro schedule checks existing installed apps more regularly. Choose a frequency that suits your routine; daily scanning is not mandatory.
Reduce unnecessary background work
- Open Settings → Trojan Scanner Pro if you use Pro. Choose weekly rather than daily checks, or turn the schedule off when you prefer manual scans.
- Choose Wi-Fi only for automatic database updates if you want to avoid mobile-data downloads.
- Review After database updates independently; turning it off avoids that additional rescan.
- Keep Android notification controls suitable for the alerts you want rather than disabling protection just to silence a sound.
Android can delay scheduled work for battery management. Removing all battery restrictions is not a required setup step; review restrictions only when troubleshooting a check that is not running.
Manage stored history and downloads
Choose report and quarantine retention in Settings. Quarantine cleanup also removes retained private file copies. Shorter retention removes older records, so save any details needed for a support request first. Review downloaded installers in your file manager and remove only files you no longer need.
Use Unused apps to identify apps you rarely open. That is a storage-management aid, not a malware verdict.
Cache and storage are different
Unchanged apps can reuse previously read information while being checked with current rules. Clearing cache may make the next scan slower. Android’s Clear storage/data is a stronger reset and can erase account state, settings and local history.
If high usage continues while no scan or download is active, contact Support with the app version, Android version, device model, a screenshot of Android’s usage details and when the behavior occurs.
