Check the operating system, hardware, and access requirements before installing Gridinsoft Anti-Malware. A supported and fully updated Windows installation provides the most reliable protection.
Operating system
- Recommended: Windows 11 or Windows 10 with current security updates.
- Legacy compatibility: Windows 8.1, Windows 8, and Windows 7 SP1 may run the application, but Microsoft no longer provides normal security support for these systems and some protection components can be limited.
- Not supported: Windows XP and Windows Vista are not suitable for the current product.
Both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows installations are supported where the operating-system version itself is supported. On a managed work computer, confirm compatibility with the administrator before installing another security product.
Hardware
- 1 GHz or faster x86 or x64 processor.
- 2 GB RAM minimum; 4 GB or more is recommended for smoother Full scans.
- At least 1 GB of free storage for the app, updates, quarantine, and logs.
- 1024 × 768 display resolution or higher.
Large disks, archives, and slower mechanical drives increase Full scan time even when the minimum requirements are met.
Access and connectivity
- Administrator rights are required for installation and for security features that modify protected Windows areas.
- An internet connection is required for activation, Threat List updates, program updates, and Internet Security checks.
- Windows date, time, and certificate services must be correct for secure activation and updates.
- A firewall, proxy, VPN, or endpoint-security policy must allow the signed Gridinsoft application to reach its update and licensing services.
Before installation
- Install pending Windows updates and restart.
- Confirm sufficient free disk space.
- Download only from an official Gridinsoft domain.
- If another antivirus is installed, review compatibility guidance before enabling overlapping real-time modules.
