Gridinsoft Anti-Malware is designed to work alongside Microsoft Defender and most third-party antivirus products. Compatibility still depends on which real-time, web, network, and behavior-monitoring modules both products enable.
Start with the default configuration
- Install Gridinsoft Anti-Malware from the official website.
- Update both security products before running simultaneous scans.
- Run the first Gridinsoft scan when the other antivirus is not already performing a full scan.
- Confirm that Windows Security reports at least one active antivirus provider.
Watch for overlapping protection
Two products may inspect the same download, encrypted connection, startup event, or quarantined file. Symptoms include repeated alerts for each other’s files, slow downloads, high disk use, blocked updates, or loss of network access. Do not add broad mutual exclusions by default; first identify the exact module or path involved.
If there is a conflict
Pause one overlapping module briefly to confirm the cause, then restore protection. Prefer one web filter or network inspection layer when two cannot coexist. Contact Support with both product names, the affected modules, Windows version, exact error, and relevant application log. Never leave all real-time protection disabled.
