Trojan Killer Portable is designed to run from removable storage without a conventional installation on each PC. It is useful for on-demand checks when installing software is impractical, but it is not a substitute for continuously installed, real-time endpoint protection.
When Portable is useful
- Checking a computer where installation is unavailable or undesirable.
- Carrying a known tool for on-demand scans of several permitted computers.
- Scanning a system whose normal security software cannot complete a check.
Important differences
The complete portable folder, local settings, updates, and activation data need to remain available on the USB drive. Features that depend on installed services, persistent drivers, startup integration, or continuous protection may be limited. The app still needs a current Threat List and the license must cover its use.
Use the USB safely
Download the portable package from an official source, keep its folder intact, and eject the drive safely after the app closes. Do not use the same drive as general storage on an infected PC. Review cleanup actions before applying them, and preserve logs when a detection returns or activation repeatedly resets.
