Manage Web Protection blocked-domain notifications

Web Protection can notify you when its DNS connection confirms a Gridinsoft policy block. A normal website loading error or a domain that simply does not exist is not enough to create a threat alert.

Open a notification

Tap a blocked-domain notification to open its details in the app. The screen may show the domain, category and an available Gridinsoft report. Details can arrive after the original block. If the reason is still unavailable, wait and refresh Activity; do not treat missing metadata as a different verdict.

Allow notifications in Android

  1. Open Android Settings and find Apps → Web Protection → Notifications, or the equivalent on your phone.
  2. Allow notifications and check the individual notification categories if Android offers them.
  3. Check silent notification settings and Do Not Disturb if you want audible alerts.

Recent Android versions also ask for notification permission in the app. Notification visibility is separate from DNS protection: a silent or hidden alert does not, by itself, show that filtering stopped. Check the Protection tab.

Why fewer alerts than blocked requests?

The app groups repeat requests for the same domain. Repeated events within ten minutes update silently, and bursts are limited to one audible alert per thirty seconds. Android may impose additional notification restrictions. The Activity request count can therefore be much larger than the number of alerts.

The local alert store keeps up to twenty confirmed blocks for up to twenty-four hours; it is not a complete history. Lock-screen previews omit the domain. Signing out clears local block details and their notifications.
